Justice Surya Kant has been appointed as the 53rd Chief Justice of India and will be taking oath on November 24. He will be succeeding Justice BR Gavai. Justice Surya Kant's appointment as the Chief Justice of India has been confirmed by the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind. He will be taking charge as the Chief Justice of India on November 24, 2022.
